Hudson Valley Schools Making Graduations Special
We are so happy to see some of these great celebrations ideas from all across the Hudson Valley.
As we get closer to the reopening of the great state of New York, we are all getting excited for our normal to get underway, right? Or maybe your like me and are just getting excited to be able to leave my house again...lol. Whatever is getting you through this is good by me but the one thing that won't happen as we start to unpause is schools reopening before the end of the calendar school year.
The announcement was made a while back that schools would be closed for the remainder of the year and that of course made us all feel bad for the graduating class this year. I've said it a million times, I think when we are pushed to think outside of the box, most times we come up with some great ideas to change with the times.
That is exactly what has happened this year with schools and graduations. We've seen all over social media that most Hudson Valley schools have figured out a way to make the Class of 2020 feel special.
Some schools are secretly putting small signs on some graduates front lawns, other schools have had their administration hand out diplomas house to house and a few schools have taken an idea that you guys came up with on the Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess Show a few weeks back.
According to the Hyde Park Central School Districts Facebook page they are doing a drive-in movie graduation for the class of 20! The post said,
"We regret that this unprecedented health and economic event has impacted everyone and particularly the Senior Class of 2020. They have worked extremely hard to distinguish themselves, FDR, and their community. Although we wish we were hosting our traditional graduation in the FDR Stadium, with the safety of everyone in the forefront of our minds, we have secured the Hyde Park Drive-In for the airing of our virtual graduation ceremony on the evening of THURSDAY, June 25th. The ceremony will include all of our traditional student speeches and student performances."
If you know of any other schools doing anything like this, let us know through the Wolf app and we will be honored to feature them on the radio and online.
