The Hudson Valley Renegades swept the Lowell Spinners to win their way into the New York-Penn League Championship Series.

Two home runs--from a team that hit only 11 all season--led Hudson Valley to a 5-3 win, winning the first two games of the best-of-3 League Semi-Final Series and heading to the Championship.

One of the home runs was hit by Garrett Whitley, a highly-touted prospect, currently considered the 8th ranked player in the farm system of the Tampa Bay Rays, the parent club with which the 'Gades are affiliated.

Their opponent in the final has yet to be determined, as the State College Spikes were beaten by the Staten Island Yankees in extra innings yesterday to force a decisive game 3. The last time the Renegades won the New York-Penn League Championship was in 2012, and prior to that, they won in 1999.
