The program will run in Dutchess County from February 23rd to April 1st.

It's being put together by the folks over at the 4-H Youth Development Program at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County and will offer a tractor and machinery safety training program for kids, according to the Daily Freeman.

When the program kicks off on Feb. 23rd it will take place at the Farm and Home Center and will get young farm workers qualified for Hazardous Occupations Order in Agriculture certification, which is required to operate farm tractors and equipment. The program will have a bunch of discussions, demonstrations, hands on activities, and more. It will conclude with a written exam and driving test.

Kids ages 8-13 can participate in the classroom part of the program, but only children 14 and older may operate equipment and be certified.

The class will cost $45, and the registration deadline to enroll is Feb. 3rd.

If you would like to register or get more information, you can email Cassie Messina or call her at (845) 677-8223, ext. 108.
