Hudson Valley Organization Makes and Donates Masks

A local Hudson Valley organization is helping our healthcare workers in a big way.

As you know there is a shortage of gloves and masks for our nurses and doctors to keep them protected during the COVID-19 outbreak. An organization called Unshattered dropped everything they were doing to help.

Unshattered is a nonprofit run out of Hopewell Junction. Their mission is to "end relapse by providing job skills training and employment for women overcoming addiction." They're known for making purses and bags out of upcycled materials.

When Kelly Lyndgaard, who runs Unshattered, heard Governor Andrew Cuomo asking for mask donations she and her team got to work right away.

According to the Unshattered Facebook page on day 1 one they had made 300 masks, using their own materials, to be distributed to the staff at Vassar Brothers Hospital. Kelly and the ladies are working around the clock to get more masks made.

Like it was stated before, they are working with their own materials and donating their time. If you would like to help and donated useful products to Unshattered you can at unshattered.org/donate.

Kelly told us that they are working to get more masks out to other medical professionals in need around the Hudson Valley.
