Hudson Valley, NY Could Get More Snow Tonight, Weekend
Snow could lead to a tricky Thursday morning commute. With more snow in the forecast for this weekend.
Hudson Valley Weather is currently "keeping an eye on a light accumulating snowfall across the Hudson Valley on Thursday morning."
If it does snow, not much is expected to fall. But, with cold surfaces roads will quickly become slick even with light snowfall.
Hudson Valley Weather's Five-Day Forecast calls for a period of snow showers Thursday morning with a dusting to 2 inches possible.
Meteorologist Ben Noll thinks parts of the region could see more than that. He predicts:
Noll thinks snow will fall after 4 a.m. on Thursday ending around midday.
"Given the timing during the morning commute, the chance for impacts is elevated. Temperatures will drop below freezing on Thursday morning, leading to the development of snow-covered and slick roads. Delays are possible with closings not completely out of the question, particularly for areas to the south and east, like Rockland and Westchester," Noll writes on Facebook.
More snow could fall on the Hudson Valley over the weekend.
Hudson Valley Weather's Five-Day Forecast is calling for snow showers on Saturday during the day.
"Mostly cloudy with a period of snow possible," Hudson Valley Weather writes.
Hudson Valley Weather has yet to release snow predictions for the potential snow on Saturday.
This past weekend the Hudson Valley experienced a "snow band on steroids." Many parts got just a few inches, but other parts of the Hudson Valley dealt with over a foot of snow. Below are snow totals, according to the National Weather Service.
