Hudson Valley “March For Our Lives” Over Walkway
The march will take place on Saturday.
According to the Daily Freeman, a Hudson Valley “March for Our Lives,” will run at the same time as the event that has the same name in Washington, D.C., on Saturday on the Walkway Over the Hudson.
The march will start on Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Poughkeepsie side of the Walkway Over the Hudson and proceed over to the Highland side and then back to the Poughkeepsie side. The march will go off rain or shine is has a total walking distance of around 2.5 miles.
Marches like this are being held all over the United States to protest against gun violence after the Parkland Florida school shooting and according to a press release, to “protest congressional inaction on school gun violence and support of the victims and survivors of the Parkland school shooting.”
Organizers of the event estimate that about 2,000 people will participate in the march and they made it clear that all bags will be checked, and backpacks or signs attached to sticks will not be allowed.
