
Hudson Valley Man Killed After Striking Deer With Motorcycle
A tragic accident has claimed the life of a 22-year-old man in Saugerties, New York.
Drivers in the Hudson Valley know that staying alert while driving is important. There are numerous things that can happen to us while we are driving that can lead to an accident. Other drivers, people walking, and various forms of wildlife are three of the leading causes of car accidents on Hudson Valley roads.
Folks who drive motorcycles have to worry about much more while they ride, and sadly, when a rider encounters wildlife, it can often lead to a deadly crash. According to the Saugerties Police Department, that's exactly what happened Tuesday night, claiming the life of a 22-year-old man.
Man Killed After Striking Deer With Motorcycle in Saugerties, New York
Police said that they were called to respond to a reported motorcycle accident on Charles Smith Road in the town of Saugerties on Tuesday night, April 29th. Saugerties Police Chief Kenneth Swart Jr. told News 10 that the motorcycle was traveling southbound around 8:25 p.m. when it struck a deer crossing the road.
Driver Identified
Following the collision with the deer, the driver, later identified as 22-year-old Marchardo Rhymaun from Catskill, NY, and the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a utility pole off the northbound shoulder of Charles Smith Road.

Police said that first responders from the Saugerties Police Department, Diaz Ambulance, and the Saxton Fire Department did everything they could at the scene, but Rhymaun passed away due to injuries.
