After more than a half-century of serving Hudson Valley customers, a favorite local deli is shutting its doors for good.

There's something special about the local neighborhood deli. Whether it's stopping in to grab lunch, a breakfast sandwich or maybe a quick dinner on a busy weekday, a good deli never disappoints.

A Hudson Valley deli that's been serving loyal customers for over 50 years epitomizes the family-owned deli experience. And sadly, it's now closing forever.

Just over a week ago, the Big 3 Deli on North Plank Road in Newburgh announced that it would be closing. In a message to customers, owner Cindy Post said it was "the end of an era" that started with her parents Nettie & Amo.

This decision was not an easy one. We have truly enjoyed the relationships with you all throughout the years. We have watched generations of families come through our doors! It’s been a pleasure to be there with you through the celebrations and the sad times. Our customers are family to all of us. This is the end of a era of an old time Italian Deli. My parents Nettie & Amo would be proud.

Post went on to thank the deli's loyal customer for supporting her family for over half of a century at all of the business' previous locations. The deli owner said that the closing was "bittersweet" and now marks a new chapter in her family members' lives.

In January it was revealed that the Big 3 Deli was for sale. A listing for the business shows that the building on North Plank Road also includes an office and studio. There's also unfinished space that could be converted into an apartment. The building is being offered for just under $500,000. Scroll down to take one last peek inside the Big 3 Deli.
