How Does ‘We’ll Be There Between 9-5′ Make You Feel?
Have you ever had to make a service appointment at your house and they told you they be there during a certain window of time?
If you have ever had to schedule an appointment for someone to come to your house to fix or install something you are well aware that most companies will gladly give you a date to come to your house and often times they will give you a window of time that they are expecting to arrive. People have been complaining about it for years and up until recently I never had a problem with a company that schedules service appointments with the "window of time method."
Window of Time
Let me start by saying I completely understand why a company gives people a window of time. I would even go as far as saying that most companies would love to give customers an exact arrival time but unfortunately, things happen and most times it's not possible because who knows what's going to happen at the appointment that happens before yours. If you've never had an appointment scheduled like this it normally goes like this: "We will be at your house between ___ & ____." Most companies do a four-hour window, which I am fine with but a 12-hour window is a bit excessive!
"We'll Be There Between 7 a.m. & 7 p.m."
That's what I was told after I made an appointment to have my new Best Buy TV installed at my house in Poughkeepsie last week. The "Geek Squad" told me that they would arrive between 7-7 on the date of service so I planned to leave work to be there for the first appointment back on Tuesday. Late Monday they called to reschedule, OK got it. They rescheduled for the next day, the same 12-hour window. I received a call from the installer the night before who told me he would be at my house between 9:30 and 2:30 the next day, again, got it!
The next day I leave work early so that I'm on time for his arrival and get to my house and wait. After sitting at the house for 3 hours I decided to call to see what was going on and the woman who answered told me that he had car troubles and wasn't going to make the appointment so they would need to reschedule, for the third time! Did I mention that the installation cost me over $400 and had to be paid upfront before I could even schedule it?

I'm currently on appointment number 3, sitting and waiting for the installer's arrival in the 12-hour window, and as of now, he hasn't arrived...LOL! Has anything like this ever happened to you? Am I overreacting? Would this bother you like it has me? Let me know through our station app above.
If the installer ever comes I will update this article...♂️!
