New York State Police have arrested two Poughkeepsie residents on drug charges after a traffic stop on I-87 in Woodbury.

On Tuesday, Dec. 18, Troopers stopped a vehicle operated by 58-year-old Elton Cromedy for a vehicle and traffic violation. Troopers allege that during the stop, probable cause led them to search the driver, his vehicle and 59-year-old passenger Willie H. Cutler. During the search, Troopers discovered approximately 57 grams of heroin and a glass smoking pipe containing crack cocaine residue.

Both men were transported to the New York State Police barracks in Newburgh where they were charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree. Misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance were also levied against both men and the driver was cited for various vehicle and traffic violations.
