New York Restaurant Brings the Spooky Year Round With Unique Halloween Theme
Fall is finally here and you're probably planning all your spooky activities for the next few weeks.
A quick road trip to Long Island will give you a unique, spooky, dining experience.
Long Island Restaurant Serves The Spooky Year Round
Halloween enthusiasts and hamburger lovers unite! Haunted House of Hamburgers has been open for a few years now serving up scares and fun Halloween-themed meals to families near and far.
According to the Haunted House of Hamburgers' website, they explain that the staff loves "Halloween and Hamburgers, So why not have them both every day?" Valid point!
The 3,000 square foot restaurant can seat 80 people at a time and used to house a Friendly's restaurant.
Haunted House of Hamburger's Decked out in Halloween Decore
From the second you park in the parking lot, you're greeted with a Halloween decoration explosion.
From an animatronic Ghost Face from the movie Scream to a life-like Frankenstein, zombies, and spooky dolls. There's a small trail that guests can navigate before or after their meal with a werewolf, grim reaper, and more. The Haunted House of Hamburger's team knocked it out of the park with their decorations.
Inside the restaurant, the walls are covered in spooky glow-in-the-dark artwork, like a bubbling witch's caldron, and a corner with a statue of a mad scientist. Even the bathrooms are decorated!
My Review of Haunted House Of Hamburger's
This weekend I had the chance to check out the spooky Long Island restaurant with my nephew and sister-in-law. We're all Halloween lovers and after seeing videos all over social media we knew we had to check it out.
They encouraged guests to come dressed up in costume, so my nephew took full advantage of that, but other guests were decked out in Halloween gear like pumpkin shirts and horror movie merch.
Reservations are most definitely needed during the fall months, as many are visiting to get in the spooky season spirits.
Haunted House of Hamburgers brings the fun immediately with all the decorations outdoors, but once you enter the front door you feel like you're in a haunted house. The restaurant is dark and scary music is playing throughout. Plus, there are noises like bats squeaking and werewolves howling to set the mood.
There's a full bar with fancy drinks that can be served with dry ice, giving it a spooky effect. My nephew and I went with the mocktails which came out bubbling in goblets:
The food wasn't anything to write home about, and next time I'll probably stick to the fun drink menu and the desserts. All in all ambiance/experience 10/10. Food 5/10. The service was good, but they were very busy and you could tell.
If you're not into Halloween or are looking for a 5-star meal, this isn't the place for you. But it's supposed to be a fun experience and it was.
My 5-year-old nephew liked it enough to say "They should make one where the Red Lobster used to be!" Not a bad idea if you ask me...
