Amy and Rick Sluszka and their two young children made it out of the fire with just the clothes on their backs. According to sources the fire was started by a lawnmower that was close to a pile of leaves. The Montgomery Fire Chief is quoted as saying "Conditions are extra dry and until we get some heavy rains, any blaze outside can spread quickly."

The Sluszka home was destroyed leaving the family with nothing. What makes matters worse, it's been reported that the family was in the processes of selling their home. Fortunately for the Sluszka's they have friends and family who truly care about them. A friend has set up a GoFund me account to help the family get back on their feet. They are looking to reach a goal of $10,000. As of now (Monday 11/14) they're are at $7,000+.

It's a tough situation to be in, losing your home and valuables in the blink of an eye. But it's times like these where we see the importance of community. If you have the time make a donation to help the Sluszka family in their time of need.
