Give Blood, Get Free Ice Cream
This is something we should all consider doing.
As we all try to get through everything coronavirus related we need to remember that there are still certain organizations that need not only our financial support, like local businesses and charities but some need something we all have and most can donate, blood.
With that in mind our friends at Stewart's Shops have announced that they are teaming up once again with the American Red Cross to kick off the 5th annual Pint for a Pint Campaign. Yes, ice cream in exchange for a blood donation.
Here is how it works according to Stewart's website, if you make a blood donation through the American Red Cross during the month of June, you will receive a coupon for a free pre-packaged pint of your favorite ice cream or gelato. Once you get the coupon all you need to do is head to your local Stewart's and cash it in for some of the best ice cream in the Hudson Valley.
If you need just a bit more encouragement, they say that one small pint of donated blood can help up to three people in need and since this program started the Red Cross has been able to collect 21,000 pints of blood, all in the month of June. So help three people in need and grab some free ice cream in the process, doesn't get much better than that.
If you would like more information or would like to make an appointment to make a blood donation checkout the American Red Cross online here or you can call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
