One of the cool things about living in the Hudson Valley is we have the opportunity to do and see a lot of stuff. You never know what you will find to do on any given weekend.

A great example of this would be the Gardnertown Polo Club match set for this coming Monday, January 15th, 2024. The Gardnertown Polo Club Interscholastic Team will be hosting the nationally known Work to Ride Polo team at Gardnetown for an afternoon of indoor polo.

Work to Ride Polo Faces Gardnertown Polo in Newburgh, New York

The Match will be held at Gardentown Farms in Newburgh and is set to start at 1 PM on Monday. Admission to the event is free to the public and there will be a snack bar available.

The polo program at Gardnertown Farms was started by their Founder and Coach Bill Dencker in 1989. Since its inception, the team has gone on to be nationally recognized, winning the Interscholastic Polo National Championship in 2021.

Members of Gardenetwon Polo have gone on to play polo at various colleges around the United States. John Dencker, Bill's youngest son now plays for the University of North Texas who just won the Collegiate National Championship.

Indoor Polo Match to be Held in Newburgh New York on Martin Luther King Day

On Monday the Gardnertown Polo Team will host a polo program that has been extremely successful in Philadelphia. Work to Ride has not only produced multiple national polo players but has also been highlighted by several news organizations. HBO, CBS and even Ralph Lauren have all featured the Work to Ride polo program.

Work to Ride has been effective in giving Philadelphia youth another place to grow and have an opportunity that might not seem possible. It brings kids into the program and teaches them not just polo but offers life skills and education opportunities that would otherwise not be available to the children from the parts of Philadelphia that it serves.
