A Hudson Valley actress is getting real about panic attacks and anxiety.

Broadway and Disney fans alike were thrilled to hear that Frozen was making it's way to the Broadway stage. Just recently the curtains came up and Frozen took over the big white way to raving reviews.

A Hudson Valley native just happens to play an important role in the show. Patti Murin, of Hopewell Junction and a John Jay graduate, plays Anna.

Frozen has been playing for a few weeks now and is getting remarkable reviews.

Earlier this week, Murin took to Instagram to share why she missed out on a recent show. In an Instagram post Murin shared  that she had a "massive panic attack" earlier that afternoon.

From there Patti gets real about what it's like dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. She wrote:

I’ve learned that these situations aren’t something to “deal with” or “push through.” Anxiety and depression are real diseases that affect so many of us. It requires a lot of rest and self care to heal every time it becomes more than I can handle in my daily life. While I hate missing the show for any reason at all, Disney has been nothing but supportive of me as I navigate my life and work, and I’m so grateful to them.

She added at the end "Just remember that you’re not alone, your feelings are real, and this is not your fault. Even Disney princesses are terrified sometimes."

You may recognize Patti from television shows like Chicago Med and Royal Pains.
