Wet weather returns to the Hudson Valley for Friday and first half of the weekend.  A warm front and a disturbance ahead of a cold front will touch off showers and thunderstorms Friday.  Rainfall could be heavy at times, since the moisture content is high in the atmosphere.  The final cold front moves through the region on Saturday.

The good news, once we get into Sunday.  The weather pattern will be much dryer and calmer for a bit.  Sunday, we will be back to sunshine and comfortable temperatures for a few days.

Here’s the forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday night:  Showers and thunderstorms likely, low around 73.  Once again, storms can produce gusty winds, heavy rain and frequent lighting.

Saturday:  Cloudy, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.  High near 82.

Saturday Night:  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.
