Former Subway Spokesman Jared Fogle Sentenced to 15 Plus Years in Prison

He rose to fame after dropping over 200 pounds by eating only turkey or veggie subs from Subway. He's now blaming that diet for his recent crimes.

Jared Fogle was in court today and did not receive the sentence he thought he would get after arranging a plea deal through his attorneys.According to TMZ, the deal he struck with prosecutors was for a sentencing ranging from 5 to 12 1/2 years. His attorneys submitted papers requesting the minimum sentence because they stated that his victims were 16 and 17-close to legal age.

His defense team also tried to blame his weight loss for what they called 'mild pedophilia'. The judge, Tanya Walton Pratt, having none of that and not being legally bound to the plea deal, sentenced him to 15 1/2 years in prison. After he serves his term, Fogle will be on a lifetime supervised release.

According to TMZ, there were 12 victims of child porn and 2 victims of child prostitution. According to the New York Post, Fogle agreed to pay a total of $1.4 million to his 14 victims, with each getting $100,000.
