Don’t Fall For The Hudson Valley’s “Fool’s Spring” This Week
If you're anything like me, you're probably really enjoying this beautiful spring-like weather the Hudson Valley is experiencing this week.
But let's check the calendar. It's February 23rd, 2022. We should be knee-deep in snow right? Don't worry, we're here to burst your bubble.
Here's your warning, Hudson Valley: DO NOT FALL FOR FOOL'S SPRING.
Have you heard about the 12 seasons of Upstate New York? The meme has been making the rounds this week across the east coast.
I guess technically this week would be Spring of Deception. Parts of the Hudson Valley saw temperatures in the mid-60s. However, that will all be coming to an end by Friday.
Cold Weather Return
It's being reported that temperatures will dip into the 20s on Wednesday night. Thursday things will get chilly as the Hudson Valley will see highs only in the 30s. Then, according to Hudson Valley Weather, starting on Thursday, February 24th, at 10 PM we will be on a Winter Storm Watch.
Talk about going from one extreme to another. Mother Nature needs to make up her mind.
The Hudson Valley is no stranger to winter storms. At the beginning of February, an intense ice storm blew through the area. Thousands were without power for days. Ulster County saw the brunt of the damage with Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan calling it a "historic storm."
Businesses and residents in the Ulster County area are still cleaning up weeks later.
If or when the late February storm hits, stay up to date with closings and delays through our Townsquare Media Storm Center.
