Florida Georgia Line, Bebe Rexha Deliver Soulful ‘Meant to Be’ at 2018 ACMs
A pop-country hit became soulful at the 2018 ACM Awards when Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha performed "Meant to Be" on Sunday night.
Tyler Hubbard and a very hairy Brian Kelley opened the performance with their verse before Rexha made a stunning entrance in a tight silver gown with sapphire shimmers. The blonde pop singer was a natural at a country awards show. The country duo would soon join her on the main stage and be joined by an enormous and diverse choir that helped them through the remaining choruses.
"Meant to Be" is the best selling country song of 2018, a No. 1 hit on multiple charts for several weeks. You'll find it on Rexha's album, but it's one of several collaborations Florida Georgia Line has been a part of recently, including songs with Backstreet Boys, Tim McGraw and newcomer Morgan Wallen. The duo is expected to release new music soon.
The 2018 ACM Awards started with one contemporary performance after another after a very brief tribute to victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival in October. Host Reba McEntire soon took over, delivering a solid stream of humor and wisecracks.
Florida Georgia Line are nominated in the Vocal Duo of the Year category.
