Former Popular Fishkill Area Restaurant Reopening Under New Name?

After sitting vacant for two years, a once beloved restaurant has new life.

One thing we can all agree on is that the COVID pandemic claimed many Hudson Valley businesses. The food service industry was one of the hardest hit with so many restaurants not making it through the pandemic. One of those restaurants that didn't make it will soon be home to something new.

Michael's in Fishkill/Wappingers Falls

It was August of 2020, (the heart of the pandemic) when the owners of Michael's announced that after long consideration they were going to close for good. Michaels first opened in 1989, with their first location in the Shop Rite Plaza on Route 9 in Fishkill. After many years of success, they moved out of the plaza but stayed close as they moved the restaurant/bar to a new location on Osbourne Hill Rd.

Micheal's was beloved by many for 30+ years and for anyone that misses their Osbourne Hill location being open, we have some good news.

New Sports Bar & Grill

Just the other day I was driving on Osbourne Hill Road and as I drove past the old Michael's I noticed that there was a new sign covering the old Micheal's sign. I was excited to see that a new business was going to give it a try and figured I should try and find out a little more information about the new bar.

After calling a phone number I found online, I wasn't able to reach anyone, but WAS able to find a listing online that said SPHINX BAR & GRILLS 150 Osborne Hill Rd, Wappinger Falls. It listed hours of operation but there wasn't a website or anything to get more information. As soon as I can confirm if they are open now, or when they'll be opening, I will update this article.
