One of our favorite types of booze being pulled off store shelves in Finland. They are saying that Fireball
contains too much propylene glycol.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has classified propylene glycol as an additive that is “generally recognized as safe” for use in food.

In a statement issued on Monday, Finland’s state alcohol monopoly, Alko, said Fireball does not meet European standards for consumption.

The FDA says Fireball is prepared according to North American food regulations but does not follow the stricter requirements of Europe.

Authorities say since it does meet American standards, it is still available in the United States.
