Help Tater: Can You Help A New York Horse Rescue?
I have been a horse girl all my life. I remember asking my Dad for a horse when I was 6. The reply I got was they are expensive and you need to know how to take care of it. Of course, he was right.
As I got older I did eventually earn a horse and then I worked to keep it fed and watered. I spent most of my teenage years working at a barn to help pay my horse bills. That included the Vet and the farrier.
Equine Rescue Resource Inc. Helps a Miniature Horse with Emergency Care
I bring all of this up in order to support something that was shared today by an organization here in the Hudson Valley that cares for horses and wants to remind us that they require constant care. Equine Rescue Resource Inc. is one of the many horse rescues we have in our area of New York.
They are located in Pine Bush and are a 501(C)3 founded in 1999 to help horses in need.
Earlier today they shared the story of Potato AKA Tater who came to Equine Rescue Resource Inc. as an emergency case. Tater arrived in need of many things and fortunately, they were able to get this little cutie some much-needed help.

Tater's previous situation led to him having not only numerous health issues but he was also severely overweight. Tater had also developed Laminitis also known as Founder which can be a completely debilitating situation for a horse. Left untreated for too long it can't be reversed.
Can You Donate to Help Tater
He is now in long-term foster care with Knoellwood Equine in Goshen, New York. Tater is going to require care that includes him being monitored by a farrier and a veterinarian. If you are interested in helping with Tater's care Equine Rescue would love to hear from you. They also have other animals and projects you can support.
