I'm not sure how I feel about this.

One of the things I love about this time of year is that I get to share my love and obsession with one of the best holiday movies ever made!

Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas is by far and away my favorite movie this time of year. Yes I'm also a big fan of Clark Griswald and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and the classic A Christmas Story but there is something about Emmet Otter that makes the choice an easy one for me.

If you have never seen it, Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas was based on the children’s book of the same name about a young otter named Emmet and his mom. The movie follows their journey to be in a talent competition in hopes of winning the cash prize.

According to Variety, the classic Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas will be coming to a living room near you as a made-for-TV film. The movie will be redone by the Flight of the Conchords, Bret McKenzie, who will write the script and write the music for the film that will be based on the 1970s ABC special from the Jim Henson Company.

YES, I am super excited to see Emmet get some press and exposure but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will come out good. I just don't want technology and such to ruin such a great movie from way back when. I love that at some points during the original you can see the strings attached to the puppets. That kinda stuff makes it sooo much better!

No word on when the movie will be out but as soon as its announced we will update this story. To hold fans over here is some of the classic movie....
