Fall, much like in the Spring, is a time when many people are thinking of clearing out the clutter. It is a popular time to go through your stuff and weed out what you don't need or want. One of the things that is important when you are thinking about tossing things out that you no longer need or want is whether someone else could put your discarded item to good use.

How Your Old Stuff Can Help Build and Repair Homes in Dutchess County

You might be thinking, Okay, but these things need to go, so how do I get rid of them and help someone else? Easy, you can donate your gently used, unwanted items to Habitat For Humanity of Dutchess County's ReStore in the Nine Mall Plaza, Wappingers Falls.

Household items, furniture, and extra materials from a home renovation, as well as other useful items, could all be things someone might be able to use. If you throw them out, they are just heading for the landfill, but if you gather them up, those items might end up being used in someone else's home. Donation is a rewarding way to recycle.

Restore Dutchess Accepts Donation All Year Long

ReStore Dutchess is a great place to donate your items. Donations are what ReStore is all about. Plan to drop off, or you can even schedule a pick up for large items. Any time of year is a great time to donate to Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County ReStore, but Fall is a perfect time to donate as America Recycles Day is coming up in November. Dutchess ReStore will be celebrating that day by asking you to donate your unwanted car to the Cars For Homes program.

By dropping off your items in person, you have a chance to shop at ReStore. ReStore is a wonderful place to shop, especially if you are planning any "Thrift Gifting" this holiday season. Dutchess ReStore is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM. They also offer online shopping when they are closed.

Keep this in mind if you aren't sure about donating to Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County. They don't just repair and construct houses; They also help build dreams and strengthen the community. They want to help get everyone into a safe, decent place to live. They do it by swinging hammers, advocating for fair housing policies, selling items at the ReStore, and empowering families through education and resources.
