For those that have a real Christmas tree, it's probably getting to be that time of year when you need to get the ornaments and lights off, and get the tree outside before you have more needles on the floor than on the tree.  Before you toss your tree to the curb, have you thought about 'upcycling' this year?

Why not take a trip to Millbrook and help feed 6 hungry goats (they wear sweaters) at Goat Hill Manor with your tree.  According to their post in the Dutchess County Mom's Facebook Group, if you decide to drop off, you can have some play time with the little goats, grab some animal crackers, and even watch your tree disappear.

Please note, the trees must be completely ornament and spray free (not flocked) and you must contact contact Goat Hill Manor before drop off.  Please email Sam,, or refer to the facebook post for details.

If you live in New Paltz, forget the tree burning this year, they're onto mulching.  You have a few options for getting your tree to DPW for mulching, find out more info here.  Then, get ready to pick up the remnants of Christmas trees past to add to your garden, free of charge, after January 14th.
