Country Stars Take Center Stage at the 2017 Grammy Awards [PICTURES]

For country music, the 2017 Grammy Awards were a night (and day) full of unexpected performances and awards.

On the latter tip, newcomer Maren Morris won Best Country Solo Performance for "My Church," beating out established artists such as Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, while 77-year-old William Bell won his first-ever Grammys trophy, Best Americana Album, for This Is Where I Live. Sturgill Simpson's A Sailor's Guide To Earth, meanwhile, nabbed the Grammys honor for Best Country Album, and Lori McKenna received a songwriting award, Best Country Song, for Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind."

Performance-wise, Morris provided one of the night's highlights by reprising her CMT Crossroads collaboration with Alicia Keys and singing "Once," while Simpson teamed up with the Dap-Kings for a goosebumps-inducing take on "All Around You." Little Big Town performed a snippet of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and, later, participated in a Bee Gees tribute, performing "How Deep Is Your Love." And Underwood and Keith Urban teamed up for a live performance of their duet "The Fighter."
