I am not even going to try to tell you that I know how to cook. When I was married to my first husband, my Grandmother taught me how to throw things in a crock pot just so I would know how to put something on the table besides takeout. Funny story, I didn't even have a crockpot at the time. She actually made her "Garbage Soup", that's what she called it, in one of my giant sauce pans.

Her ingenuity is probably the birthplace of what I called a pot meal before Rachael Ray even had a cooking show. I was the queen of putting it all in a pot or even a wok, adding flavor, and calling it dinner. I was the queen of semi-homemade long before Sandra Lee hit the Food Network.

Easy Cooking Can Start With A Can of Progresso Soup

I like to think that my recipes are just as tasty, but who knows? One thing I do know is that it is super easy to cook if you have a great place to start. I have a favorite pan, and I find that Progresso soup can be a great inspiration. I like to think that starting with a can of soup is what I learn from my Mother.

Growing up, my Mom always had a can of Campbell's soup in the cabinet. Her go-to was cream of mushroom. It went on everything from baked chicken to tuna casserole. Following in her cooking footsteps, I always find inspiration in the soup aisle. Check out what I recently did with a can of Progresso Pit Master.

Paty's Progresso Pitmaster BBQ Chicken Recipe

I love taking a can of soup and turning it into a meal. Recently, I discovered a new line of soup from Progresso, and my first new recipe is what I am calling Pitmaster Chicken. This recipe is super simple. You can throw this together in no time. It's the perfect fast, cold-weather meal when you just don't have time to wait for something to bake.
