Huge Convenience Returns to Stewart’s Shops in New York
Shopping at your local Stewart's Shop is about to get a lot faster, again.
Today, most of us have gotten used to many of the new conveniences that technology have provided us in may parts of our lives. We have cars and trucks that can not only park and drive themselves, we also have numerous options to use when it comes to paying for our purchases.
How Do You Pay for Things at the Store?
Years ago you could pay cash, check, or card. Today, most stores still offer those options (minus the check....LOL) but slowly, the cash option is becoming a thing of the past as many of us choose to use a card we either swipe, insert, tap, or have stored on our phones.
Not only can you store your cards on your phones, but many cards today have a chip that makes "tap to pay" a payment option. Simply take out your card or device and tap it to the payment pad at the store, and technology does the rest. But is tap-to-pay safe?
Stewart's Shop Stops Tap to Pay Option
Just a few months ago the folks at Stewart's announced that the tap-to-pay option would no longer be available at its over 350 stores across New York and southern Vermont. At the time they said that they had safety concerns about an issue in the software which could allow scammers the ability to use fake card information.
