The holiday season is a wonderful time however, it can also be stressful. As we all know stress can be very bad for us. It leads to weight gain and some serious health issues. Let's face it, none of us needs either this time of year. It is bad enough that all the food we'll eat is bound to add a pound or two or ten, but we certainly don't need to pile on any extra weight just because we are stressing over "getting it all done".

So what can you do? Well, CBS had a great story on this morning and it looks like there will be lots of trend in 2016 to help us all reduce stress and in turn be healthier. It is less about dieting and more about eating right. We all have heard of super foods, super drinks and super exercises, well now we have super herbs. They are the new stress relieving trend coming your way for the New Year.

Plus, move over kale there is a new green in town called kelp. Yes the stuff that you find in the ocean, Kelp is now the go to veggie, but I don't suggest you pick it up the next time you head to the Jersey Shore. Seaweed is taking the lead in 2016 and so is matcha which you are going to find in everything from coffee to cookies. Yes I said cookies.

Their is even a new type of happy hour for 2016. Find out about it all in this CBS's interview with the co-founders of a website called Well + Good. Here's to less stress or at least new ways to relieve it.
