The New York State Police are hoping the public can help them locate a suspect in an Upstate New York homicide.

According to a press release from the New York State Police, an incident occurred on Earl Lynn Court in Cohoes on Sunday September 14th, 2025.

The NYSP explain that a homicide occurred at the residence. CBS 6 is reporting the following details of the victim:

The victim is a 41-year-old female and resided at the single family house with her boyfriend. The victim's identity has not been released at this time.

This is the first homicide in Cohoes in 2025.

NYS Police Asking For Publics Help Locating Suspect

In a statement shared to social media, New York State Police have shared details about the suspect believed to take part in the Cohoes homicide.

The NYSP investigators and the Cohoes Police Department "advise the public that the suspect "Anthony G. Bechand, age 53 remains at large and may be armed and dangerous."

They describe Bechand as:

a white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.

Bechand's clothing description is unknown at this time, but New York State Police believe he is traveling in a white 2024 Chevrolet Silverado which you can see below:

How to Help NYSP Locate Murder Suspect

The truck above was located on September 14th on County Route 60, near the intersection of County Route 86 in Franklin County, in the Town of Brighton.

NYSP are asking if you've seen Bechand or have information regarding his whereabouts you are urged to contact the NYS Police at 518-897-2000.

Officials stress to no approach the suspect, but your "assistance is vital as this investigation continues."
