Chick-fil-A has announced they have decided NOT to open a new restaurant at this upstate New York location.

For as long as we can remember most fast food lovers across New York have craved a Chick-fil-A restaurant in the part of the state they live in. Not only is it one of the most craved restaurants, but it's also one of the most rumored businesses to open anytime construction begins on a piece of property.

If you live in the Hudson Valley, NY, you are well aware that those rumors popup a few times a year, with the most recent rumors having Chick-fil-A possibly opening on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, NY and another in the Hudson Valley Towne Center on Route 9 in Fishkill, NY.

Chick-fil-A Scraps Upstate New York Plans

According to the Brunswick Planning Board, they were informed at its November 21st meeting that Chick-fil-A was no longer considering the site for one of its restaurants. One of the site's project managers Tim Freitag from Bohler Engineering spoke at the meeting informing the board that the plans have changed. Bohler Engineering, which represents the site developer, said that the Chick-fil-A that was initially planned for a portion of the site has been replaced with new plans that include a 7,000-square-foot retail building with gas dispensers.

QuickChek Replaces Chick-fil-A

The new plans for the site will include adding a QuickChek convenience store with six gasoline pumps instead of Chick-fil-A which would be the first QuickChek in the area. Fans looking for their Chick-fil-A fix, still have three options as there are restaurants in the Albany area including inside the Albany International Airport at 737 Albany Shaker Rd, Loudonville, NY, another at 502 N Greenbush Rd, Rensselaer, NY, and the newly opened location at 944 Central Ave, Albany, NY.
