Carrie Underwood will co-headline a free concert at Central Park on September 27, and it’s all for a good cause.

Carrie is going to be part of the Global Citizen Festival, which is continuing its campaign to put an end to extreme poverty all over the world by 2030.

Carrie says “I believe we all have the ability to make our world a better place,” Underwood says. “Positive change is possible when we work together, and this festival is a hopeful opportunity for all of us to help see an end to extreme poverty.”

Other headliners include Jay-Z, No Doubt, fun, the Roots and Tiësto.

The Global Citizen Festival, now in its third year, coincides with the UN General Assembly. In addition to the powerful performances, the event will also serve as a platform for commitments from global leaders to become pro-active in the areas of vaccines, education and sanitation.

The concert will air live on MSNBC, with NBC News also hosting a one-hour prime time special about the event at a later date.
