Petco Love Organization Invests Thousands of Dollars in CARE of DC

As CARE of DC wrapped up their year, they shared that they were awarded a large investment from the Petco Love Organization.

Since 1999 Petco Love (previously the Petco Foundation) has had one mission: "To harness the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier."

Over the years they have saved millions of pet lives and have invested $400 million in animal rescues across the country.

CARE of DC announced on social media that they have been award $20,000 through Petco Love. On Facebook they explain that the money has already helped them save a dog named Cody.

The rescue explains that Cody, who was at one of their rescue partner shelters, was scheduled for euthanasia, as he was in need of an eye removal, heartworm treatment and neutering all of which were a hefty financial burden.

However, the Petco Love investment has helped save Cody's life. CARE of DC writes:

Thanks to the generous investment from Petco Love, we were able to take on Cody's medical needs. As a result, he was adopted and is now thriving in his new home!

Congratulations to CARE of DC and to Cody!

What Does Petco Love Do?

Not only does Petco Love help animal rescues across the country, but they also help pet owners.

According to Petco Love, 1 in 3 pets go missing every year. Part of their mission is to reunite owners with their lost pets. The organization uses photo matching technology and community to help locate lost pets and bring them home.
