A car fell off an embankment causing massive delays in both directions on Route 9W.

On Wednesday around 11 a.m., a car went off an embankment near 1330 Route 9W in Marlboro, according to Ulster County Fire/Incidents.

I personally drove past the accident just before noon and noticed multiple first responders on the scene and what appeared to be a tow truck trying to lift something from down the embankment.

Ulster County Fire/Incidents is reporting injuries. However, a spokesperson for the Marlborough Police Department said she was unaware of any injuries.

The spokesperson confirmed a car did go off the embankment and noted more information will be released soon. We will update this story once more information is known.

Traffic is backed up in both directions on 9W in Ulster County. It took me personally about 45 minutes to travel less than a mile. I noticed a large traffic pile up in the other direction as well.
