Craft-Your-Own Salad Restaurant Inches Closer to Opening Day in New Paltz

Every so often conversations start to swirl about what fast food restaurants and businesses should open in the Hudson Valley.

Usually we hear all about Chick-Fil-A and White Castle, but there's usually also a push for restaurants like Chop't where you can build your own salad.

Create Your Own Salad Company Open in Beacon, NY in 2023

Back in 2023, a locally owned craft-your-own salad restaurant opened up on  Main Street in Beacon.

Hudson Valley native Sabena Branche left her career and long commute to bring fresh, made-to-order customizable salad creations to the Hudson Valley. She turned that inspiration into Butterhead Salad Company.

The Main Street, Beacon location not only offered up amazing salad creations, they also have warm rice bowls, yogurt parfaits, and quinoa bowls.

Clearly, Branche and her team at Butterhead are doing something right, because they are now expanding!

Butter Head Salad Company Opens 2nd Location in Ulster County

In November 2024, the locally owned and operated create-your-own salad company announced they were adding a 2nd location in New Paltz.

Since that initial announcement, the Ulster County community has been patiently waiting for an update and grand opening announcement. And it looks like were almost there.

On Friday, February 28th, 2025, Butterhead Salad Company wrote on social that their soft opening is happening some point during the week of March 3rd, 2025.

Butterhead's New Paltz location can be found at 138 Main Street. Follow their social media accounts for a Grand Opening announcement.
