School Bus Transporting Children Collides with Tree in New York
Reports are coming out of Sullivan County this afternoon that there has been an accident involving a bus full of children. This has resulted in a road closure on County Route 103 also known as Anawana Road.
Sullivan County social media pages started reporting the accident from eyewitnesses who were reporting a Yellow bus similar to the ones used by schools had left the road and collided with a tree. Early reports could not confirm that children were on the bus.
Sullivan Road Closed Due to School Bus Accident Involving 50 Children
Now that the information is coming from county sources we are able to confirm that the bus did indeed have passengers and Yes they were children. In the time since the crash authorities have also closed the road.

There is no word yet about what may have caused the bus to leave the road and strike the tree. Some have speculated that a tire may have caused it. The investigation is ongoing so when we get more information on the cause we will update this part of the story.
Sullivan County, NY 911 Issues Road Closure Statement After Bus Crash
We can confirm though in a statement from Sullivan County, NY 911 that there were 50 children aboard the school bus and that their injuries appear to be minor.
Anawana Lake Road (County Route 103) is closed near Robert Road in Monticello, just south of the intersection with Fraser Road, due to a school bus accident. Injuries to the 50 children on board are reported to be minor, but it will take some time to remove the bus, which was the only vehicle involved. (via Sullivan County, NY 911)
