Police in Kingston, NY, have two suspects in custody after they allegedly broke into a business and managed to steal a deli cooler.

Earlier this month, the City of Kingston Police Department (KPD) launched an investigation after a burglary was reported at a former sandwich shop in the Kingston Plaza in Ulster County, NY.

Thieves Steal Cooler in Kingston, NY

According to a KPD press release, it all started on Friday, October 17th, 2025, when the department was called to investigate a reported burglary that happened weeks earlier at the former Paulie Boy Hero Shop located in the Kingston Plaza at 284 Plaza Rd, Kingston, NY.

Shortly after, KPD began an investigation that revealed that two suspects entered the former sandwich/sub shop and stole a deli cooler valued at $1,000. Once the suspects removed the cooler, police said they allegedly proceeded to transport it to a business that they operate.

Two Arrested After Cooler Heist in Ulster County, NY

Through the course of its investigation, police were able to identify the two suspects, 29-year-old Amgad Saif and 26-year-old Younis Saif, and the place of business where they allegedly took the cooler.

On Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, KPD executed a search warrant at First Capital Mart at 85 Murray in Kingston, NY, and were able to locate the stolen cooler and the two suspects. KPD arrested the brothers and charged them with burglary, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies. They were arraigned in Kingston City Court and released on their own recognizance.

Both suspects are due back in court at a later date.
