After 10 years in service a popular Kingston steakhouse is saying goodbye.

Kingston, NY Steakhouse Bids a "Bittersweet Farewell"

The Ulster County community and foodies alike are heartbroken over the latest closure announcement in the Kingston restaurant world.

Chops Grille took to social media on April 13th, 2025 to announce that after 10 years in businesses they would be closing their doors.

On Facebook Chops Grille shared "A Bittersweet Farewell" writing:

After much thought and reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our restaurant as our lease comes to an end. It’s been an incredible journey filled with unforgettable memories, loyal customers, and a passionate team that made everything possible.

Chops Grille opened up back in November of 2015 and was known for their delectable cuts of meat and fantastic service.

Their final night of service will be Tuesday, April 15th, 2025.

Ulster County Community Shares Their Appreciation for Chops Grille

Denni and Joan Demosthenes owners and operators at Chops Grille, continued on social media adding "We want to express our deepest gratitude to all of you—our amazing customers who became like family, and our dedicated staff members who brought their heart and soul into every day."

Whether you joined us for a quick bite or stood beside us in the kitchen, you’ve helped shape something truly special that we’ll always carry with us."

They also went on to thank their landlord Rupco who they say has been "nothing short of incredible.

After Chops Grille announced they were closing, their customers and the Ulster County community began to share their favorite memories and thanks for Chops Grille.

One commenter wrote "You helped me keep going through covid, thanks! Was an "essential employee" and did quite a bit of take away at that time. Best of luck in future endeavors.

Popular Kingston Bakery Gets New Home in Midtown

Kingston Bread + Bar announced in November 2024, that they were closing their North Front Street location.

Much like Chops, Kingston Bread and Bar said they weren't being forced out, but they did need to find a new home. Since that announcement, the community has been patiently waiting for details to be shared about their new location.

In early April 2025 Kingston Bread + Bar announced they were staying true to their word and moving in to 608 Broadway in Midtown Kingston.

The location is the old home of PAKT, home to some of the best brunch and Bloody Mary's in town.
