Dead Birds in Orange County Test Positive For Bird Flu

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza is commonly known as bird flu.

Bird flu can affect humans, however Hudson Valley Post reports that health experts believe the current risk of bird flu to humans in the Hudson Valley is low. Humans can contract the virus from the saliva, mucus or feces from infected birds or livestock.

For humans, bird flu comes with a mild illness like eye redness and respiratory issues but it can lead to more severe issues like pneumonia.

With that being said, bird flu can seriously effect the health of your pets.
