If you're a residential Central Hudson customer, chances are you're used to receiving your natural gas or electric bill on a bi-monthly basis. For some months, particularly the summer ones when air conditioners and fans are running almost 24 hours a day, your budget can take quite a hit every other month. That may not be the case this summer.

According to Central Hudson, the utility will be making the switch from bi-monthly to monthly bills. While businesses, as well as customers on the budget plan, currently receive monthly bills, most of Central Hudson customers do not. This move, according to Central Hudson, will help it's customers manage their household budgets a little easier.

Beginning July 1, all customers will receive a monthly bill. While the meters will still only be read every other month, the interim bill will be estimated based upon prior usage, weather patterns and variable supply pricing. When the next meter reading occurs, any adjustments based on your actual usage will appear on the next bill.

According to Central Hudson, this move is part of a new rate-plan approved last summer by state regulators to conform all New York utilities to bill their residential customers on a monthly basis. Click here for all the details.
