Move over Jewelry Parties there is a new form of grown up entertainment in town that makes you feel like a kid. Let's face it we all like to doodle during meetings and even if you didn't color well in kindergarten chances are you will love it as a grown up.

NBC's Rehema Ellis reports that the new thing in home parties is The Coloring Party and it is even being swapped out for book parties. Yes, a play date with your friends, maybe add wine and snacks and get your art on. Whether you like traditional crayons or colored pencils, even magic markers these parties are a great way to have fun and revisit a non-stressful part of your childhood. (Unless your OCD makes you crazy about staying in the lines.)

Even if you don't want to do it with friends it is a great activity while you are just hanging out wait to do something. I carry a coloring book everywhere I go. It is more fun than a magazine and really helps time pass. I will admit though it is fun to sometimes grab a Disney coloring book and really let you inner child out to color. My go to grown up coloring book is Megamundan. They make great coloring books for adults based on tattoos.

Adult coloring book parties are catching on across the country, as illustrators like Lisa Congdon create intricate coloring books intended to give adults a chance to relax and be creative without having to think too hard. NBC's Rehema Ellis reports tonight. http://nbcnews.to/1HdetQM
