Beth Christy Talks With Pat Green
When 'Wave on Wave' hit the charts in 2003, I fell in love with the song. I couldn't hear it enough and it made me want to know more about Pat Green, where he was from, was he a songwriter too, etc. As with so many artists, he was not an overnight success.
He released his first album in 1995, he has recorded ten so far, and was well known in his home state of Texas before he hit big in 2003. He's had 16 Top 40 hits and continues to perform all over the country.
I had a chance to see Pat perform at CRS, a country music industry gathering in Nashville, in 2004. His set was great, fun, and it was real music. He is a singer-songwriter and he makes you watch and listen to him. I remember that before he performed 'Wave on Wave', he said that he wanted to thank Country radio because now his kids could go to college.
He's performing tomorrow night as the host of the Annual Salute to Texas Independence Day at Terminal 5 in NYC, something he has done for the past 8 years, and while the other acts on the bill may change, it is a show not to be missed. This year's show is tomorrow night and features Randy Rogers Band, Casey Donahew Band, Wade Bowen. Click here for tickets.
I got to talk with him this afternoon and asked about the show, his music, and what he's listening to on his Ipod.
Don't miss this great show. Terminal 5 is a cool place to see a show and the music will not disappoint. Click here for tickets, then tell me all about it on Monday!
