A local institution has closed their doors after serving up 21 years of treats.

It seems like every day there is another story about a local, long-time business closing up shop. Every town is seeing the disappearance of iconic restaurants, businesses and shops that are unique to the Hudson Valley. This week, a beloved bakery cafe shut their doors after over two decades of serving the community.

The Village of Warwick is still mourning the loss of Jean-Claude's Patisserie & Dessert Cafe. The bake shop announced last week on Facebook that they would be closing down their famous village location. Owners Annette and Jean-Claude Sanchez didn't give a reason for the closure, but say that the location was their own version of "Cheers" where everybody knew not only your name but also your favorite dessert.

The Sanchez family says that although the cafe will close in Warwick, they will be keeping their Greenwood Lake store open. The location will continue to serve some of the more popular bakery items, as well as some new menu offerings.
