Cycle & Boxing Studio in Beacon Popular Stop For a Great Workout
Back in the summer of 2018 a new workout studio landed on Main Street in Beacon. The Studio @ Beacon, created by Laura Leigh & Samantha Abby, brought intense yet fun boxing and cycling classes to Dutchess County.
It was a great way to work up a sweat and then treat yourself after at The Studio's smoothie bar. Not only could you refuel with a refreshing smoothie, but they also offered coffee and yogurt bowls as well.
Changes were in the works for The Studio in 2025, however it sounds as though things have taken an unexpected turn.
The Studio In Beacon Announces Unexpected Closure
In a statement emailed to customers also posted on social media, Laura and Sam of The Studio in Beacon shared an unfortunate update to their company.
The statement addressed to their "beloved clients" they explain that they had a "sale in place that was scheduled to be finalized on March 1st." According to the Abby's, the change of ownership would be the only change at The Studio @ Beacon.
However, they add:
"Unfortunately we were misled, and this is not to be."
They go on to write "We are absolutely gutted to inform you that the studio will officially close next week and our final class will be held Monday February 24th."
The Abby family expressed that in their "anger and disappointment" they are "trying to focus on what has made the Studio @ Beacon so special to so many of us through the years, and the answer is simple: We love this community."
As for reimbursements The Studio @ Beacon team is still trying to navigate the best way to give back to those who were unable to use their class packs.

An Unfortunate Pattern in Beacon, New York
Towards the end of 2024 we started to catch on to an unfortunate pattern on Main Street in Beacon.
A number of popular restaurants and businesses were closing their doors. The Vault, Max's on Main and The Kitchen Sink were just a few of the popular locally owned businesses to close up shop in 2024.
Here's to hoping the list is smaller or non existent in 2025.
