Let the controversy begin.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal reporter Nina Schutzman's Facebook page, a vote last night from the Fire Board ruled in favor of removing two American flags from two fire trucks from the Arlington Fire District.

Arlington Fire District Chief Tory Gallante told Schutzman that the union recently asked for permission to display American flags on the rear of two fire trucks. Permission was granted to do so as long as the flags were secured to the trucks.

At last night's meeting, Gallante said that three board members were in favor of removing the flags, two were not in favor, according to Schutzman.

We have reached out to Gallante for more information on this and will update this story as we get more.
