Who's idea was this? Seriously, twice a year my internal clock takes a beating when we either have to turn the clocks ahead or turn them back an hour. Admittedly, it is somewhat easier to gain an hour of sleep as opposed to losing one, but still.

Plus, I have difficulty remembering if Daylight Saving Time is beginning or ending and then there's the whole thing about EDT or EST on schedules, but I digress. Wait, one other thing, is it Daylight Savings Time or Daylight Saving Time?

Whether you add the 's' or not, here's what's about to happen this weekend. If you have any clocks that still need to be adjusted manually, you will need to set them an hour ahead before you go to bed. The time change officially happens at 2 am, and I figure if you're still awake at that point, an extra hour probably isn't going to help you that much.


In all seriousness though, the one good thing about this clock-changing craziness, is that it is the perfect time to change the batteries in your smoke and/or carbon monoxide detectors. If you do that twice a year, you know they will work should you, heaven forbid, ever need them to.

Get ready to enjoy an extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning and you're gonna love it when it gets darker an hour earlier too. You're welcome.
