‘A Quiet Place 2′ May Not Be Shot in Hudson Valley After All
A box office hit filmed in New Paltz, Beacon and Pawling may not be returning for the sequel.
Ever since John Krasinski announced that he would be shooting a sequel to A Quiet Place, the Hudson Valley has been buzzing about when production would begin in our area. Well, it looks like we may not want to hold our breath, because another New York region is on the filmmaker's radar.
According to Syracuse.com, Krasinski was in western New York this week, scouting locations for A Quiet Place 2. The filmmaker and former star of The Office was spotted wearing a Boston Red Sox hat and chatting with fans outside a cafe near Buffalo.
Previously, producers confirmed that filming for the new film would begin in July in "Upstate New York," but no further details were given. It's still very possible that portions of the film will still be shot in the Hudson Valley. Even though a majority of A Quiet Place was filmed in local towns, some scenes were also filmed further upstate in Utica.
Emily Blunt, Krasinski's wife, is expected to reprise her role from the last film along with new cast member Cillian Murphy. The film is slated for release in May of 2020.
