Stop & Shop Closing Under Performing Stores By End of 2024

In July of 2024, Stop & Shop announced the "next steps in its plans to position the company for growth."

That plan includes closing 32 "under performing" stores across the country before the end of 2024 as well as making "investments in price and the customer experience as part of its growth strategy in its markets."

The press release explains that following the closure "Stop & Shop will continue to have a strong presence across its five state footprint with more than 350 stores."

Of the 32 stores closing before the end of the year, 7 are in New York.
