Happy  4th of July weekend! It will be a busy weekend for us all with parades, barbecues and fireworks. With that being said, it's always good to take some precautionary measures before you start celebrating.

The American Red Cross has published a list of safety tips for us to follow this weekend as we celebrate America's Independence.

Firework safety is very important, especially with all the firework sales in the Hudson Valley. These tips may seem like common sense, but a reminder is always useful. The Red Cross states "The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a public fireworks show put on by professionals. Stay at least 500 feet away from the show." If you or someone you know happen to be lighting off fireworks please keep these tips in mind:

  • Keep water near by.
  • Make sure the person lighting the fireworks has protective eye wear.
  • Follow the instructions on the firework pack.
  • Never give small children fireworks.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend from all of us here at The Wolf!
