4 Hallmark Christmas Movies Filmed in the Hudson Valley To Watch This Holiday Season

Over the last few years, television and movie production has been booming in the mid-Hudson region. HBO, Showtime, Hulu, they've all been spotted filming in the area. So has Hallmark.

Hallmark must have realized that the Hudson Valley is the BEST when it comes to the holiday season. Seriously, some of our favorite towns look like they were plucked right from a Christmas movie. So why not use the HV as a backdrop for a made-for-TV-Christmas movie?

 Hallmark Movies Filmed in The Hudson Valley

Well, Hallmark has done just that. We've done some research and found 4 Hallmark movies that were filmed right here in the Hudson Valley. With that being said, while these movies were filmed in our backyard, in the movies they may portray Vermont, Maine, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and so on.

Check out these Hallmark Christmas movies if you're looking to spot the Hudson Valley while getting a festive fix:

A Holiday Spectacular: Filmed in Hyde Park, Newburgh, parts of the lower Hudson Valley and near Albany. Several Hyde Park residents caught a glimpse of the production filming at the popular Everyready Diner in February of 2022.

One December Night: The Hallmark movie, starring Peter Gallagher, filmed mostly in Orange County. Not only is the Hudson Valley used as a backdrop, but several local businesses were used in a tree lighting scene. Parked Prosecco, Crumm Cake CUPCAKES, Milk & Honey Mobile Taps and Nuzzi's Tin Tavern were all featured in the film.

Last Vermont Christmas: Rhinebeck is arguably one of the most festive towns this time of year. It's like it was made for TV! Last Vermont Christmas obviously takes place in Vermont, but they use East Market Street in Rhinebeck for some memorable scenes.

Christmas Camp: According to Heavy.com, Christmas Camp was filmed in Rhinebeck in Kingston in 2018 (at the same time as Last Vermont Christmas) and was released in 2019.

Hudson Valley Honorable Mention

There's a 5th Hallmark movie that has ties to the Hudson Valley, kind of. Back in 2018 Hallmark Movies & Mysteries released a holiday movie called Christmas Wonderland. The movie wasn't filmed anywhere near the mid-Hudson region, they actually filmed a majority of the film in Utah and Pennsylvania. With that being said, they use Pleasant Valley as the hometown of their main character Heidie played by Emily Osment.

IMDB's description of the storyline states "Heidi (Osment), who initially left her small town of Pleasant Valley with the dream of one day becoming a successful painter, has put her own art on hold to excel as an art gallery curator." And then,you know, Christmas magic ensues.
